Bareilly to Hold Special Voter Registration Drives on October 17 and 24

Bareilly: District Magistrate and District Election Officer Avinash Singh chaired a meeting with representatives of recognised national and state political parties at the Collectorate on Tuesday to discuss special voter registration drives following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls 2026.

The administration informed participants that special campaigns would be conducted at all polling stations across the district on October 17 and 24, 2026, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. The initiative aims to encourage eligible citizens to register as voters and ensure that more first-time voters are included in the electoral rolls.

Singh urged political parties to activate their Booth Level Agents (BLAs) and ensure their presence at polling stations on both dates. The agents will assist eligible new voters in completing Form 6 for enrolment. He emphasised that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and BLAs should coordinate closely and spread awareness about the registration process.

The District Magistrate said the Election Commission aims to ensure that no eligible citizen is deprived of the right to vote and that no ineligible person is included in the electoral rolls. He stressed the need to maintain accurate and updated voter lists while encouraging maximum participation among eligible citizens.

Representatives of recognised political parties also offered suggestions regarding election-related arrangements. Singh assured them that their suggestions would receive appropriate consideration.

Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Santosh Kumar Singh, other concerned officials and representatives of recognised national and state political parties attended the meeting.
